Captain your own high-speed vessel and navigate the iconic waters of Abu Dhabi on a thrilling, self-drive marine safari.
Experience the thrill of the open sea as you captain your own boat through Abu Dhabi’s most stunning coastal landscapes. Starting from the vibrant Al Qana waterfront, this self-drive excursion offers a rare, personal perspective of the capital’s landmarks that traditional tours simply cannot match.
After a professional safety briefing, you’ll take the wheel of a Hero Boat—a stable, high-performance vessel that requires no boat license to operate. Your journey begins by navigating toward the awe-inspiring Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque and the historic Old Maqta Watch Towers. From there, you can open the throttle to feel the ocean breeze as you head toward a secluded island.
If you choose the 90-minute extended tour, you’ll venture deep into the serene Mangrove forests, where you can opt for a high-speed zip through the water or a tranquil, slow-paced exploration. It’s more than a tour—it’s your own private marine adventure where you decide the speed and the view.

How many people can fit in one boat?
Each Hero Boat is a two-seater vessel. The maximum capacity is two people per boat, with a combined weight limit of 225kg (500 lbs).
What is the difference between the 60-minute and 90-minute tours?
The 60-minute tour covers the main landmarks, including the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque and Old Maqta Watch Towers. The 90-minute extended adventure adds a journey into the lush Abu Dhabi mangroves for a more in-depth nature experience.

Yes! Children are welcome to join the adventure as passengers provided they are at least 6 years old. For safety reasons, infants and children under 6 are not permitted.
Is there an age limit to drive the boat?
To captain the vessel, the driver must be at least 18 years old. However, if you have a passenger over 18, you are welcome to switch seats and take turns driving during the tour!
What landmarks will I see during the adventure?
Starting from Al Qana, you will see the iconic Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque from a unique water perspective, the historic Old Maqta Watch Towers, secluded natural islands, and the serene mangrove forests.
What should I wear and bring with me?
We recommend comfortable beachwear or outdoor clothing that you don’t mind getting slightly splashed. Sunscreen and water are provided, but we highly suggest bringing your own sunglasses and a waterproof camera or phone case.
Is the tour safe for pregnant women or people with health conditions?
Due to the nature of the boat ride and potential sea conditions, pregnant women are not permitted to participate. We also advise guests with serious back, neck, or heart conditions to consult with us before booking.
What happens if I arrive late for my scheduled time?
Punctuality is essential. You must arrive 15 minutes early for your briefing. If you arrive late, you will miss the mandatory safety session and will not be allowed to join the tour. Please note that no-shows and late arrivals are non-refundable.
