Know Before You Book

• Booking Confirmation: You will receive instant confirmation upon booking, with final verification provided within 48 hours based on availability.

• Capacity: Each 4×4 Land Cruiser comfortably accommodates up to 6 guests.

• Health & Safety: For safety reasons, this tour is not recommended for pregnant women, children under 4 years old, or individuals with serious heart or medical conditions.

• Accessibility: Collapsible wheelchairs with removable wheels are permitted, provided the guest is accompanied by someone to assist with boarding and disembarking.

• Dress Code: We recommend comfortable clothing. Closed shoes and trousers are required for quad biking. During winter (October–March), please bring warm layers as the desert cools down significantly at night.

• Pick-up Details: Transfers are available exclusively from Abu Dhabi hotel lobbies. Please be ready in the lobby at the designated time.

• Dining: Vegetarian meal options are available; please request these at the time of booking.

• Religious Observances: During Ramadan and other “Dry Days,” government regulations prohibit live entertainment and the service of alcohol. For specific dates, please contact us at info@vootours.com.

1. What are the standard tour timings?

The Evening Desert Safari typically runs for 6 hours, beginning at 3:00 PM and concluding around 9:00 PM.

2. How many guests can fit in one vehicle?

Each of our professional 4×4 Land Cruisers is designed to comfortably accommodate up to 6 guests.

3. Are there any age restrictions for children?

While we love hosting families, the desert safari is not recommended for children under 4 years old due to the adventurous nature of the dune bashing.

4. What is included in the safari package?

Your booking is all-inclusive of:

• Transport: Round-trip 4×4 Land Cruiser transfers (sharing basis).

• Adventure: Dune bashing, sandboarding, and camel riding.

• Culture: Henna tattooing and souvenir photos in traditional Arabic dress.

• Dining: A full BBQ dinner buffet with Arabic coffee, dates, and unlimited soft drinks.

• Shows: Live Belly Dance and Tanura performances.

5. Where is the desert camp located?

Our traditional camp is nestled in the stunning Al Khatim Desert, located along the Al Ain Road, approximately 45 to 60 minutes from the city.

6. When exactly will I be picked up and dropped off?

Pickup begins at 3:00 PM (your exact time will be confirmed via email or WhatsApp after booking). You will be returned to your hotel or mall at approximately 9:00 PM.

7. What is your cancellation policy?

We offer maximum flexibility! You can cancel your booking up to 24 hours (1 day) in advance to receive a full refund.

8. What should I wear for the desert safari?

• Summer (April–September): Wear lightweight, breathable cotton clothing and plenty of sunscreen.

• Winter (October–March): The desert gets chilly after sunset, so we recommend bringing a jacket or sweater.

• Essentials: Always bring sunglasses to protect your eyes from the sun and sand.

9. Are Quad Biking and Dune Buggies included?

These high-octane activities are not included in the standard package but are available at the camp for an additional charge.

10. Does the safari operate during Ramadan?

Yes, we operate throughout Ramadan. However, in accordance with UAE law, there are restrictions on live entertainment, and alcohol will not be served during this holy month.

11. Is the safari safe for pregnant women?

While we welcome everyone, we advise that the “dune bashing” portion of the trip is quite bumpy. If you are in the advanced stages of pregnancy or have medical concerns, please consult your doctor before booking. We can also arrange to skip the dune bashing and drive you directly to the camp.

12. How long is the drive to the desert?

The journey from Abu Dhabi city to the Al Khatim dunes takes roughly 45 minutes to 1 hour, depending on traffic.

Useful Information

• Seating & Scheduling: Seating is assigned by the Tour Manager based on availability. While we strive for punctuality, pick-up times may vary by 30–60 minutes depending on traffic and location.

• Essentials: We highly recommend wearing sunscreen and a hat, and bringing high-quality sunglasses to protect against the desert sun.

• Private Tours: If you prefer a more exclusive experience, private transport can be arranged upon request.

• Valuables: Please keep your personal belongings (wallets, cameras, phones) with you at all times. VooTours is not responsible for items left in vehicles or at the campsite.

• Strollers: To ensure space in our vehicles, strollers are only permitted if requested at the time of reservation.

• Supervision: Children aged 4 to 10 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

• Local Laws & Etiquette:

  • Photography: It is strictly prohibited to photograph military installations, government buildings, and UAE residents (especially ladies).

  • Littering & Smoking: Littering is a fineable offense. Smoking is prohibited in all public areas.

  • Identification: Always carry your original passport or Emirates ID, as some tours require official identification for entry.

• Policy on “No-Shows”: Guests who are not ready at the pick-up location on time will be considered a “No-Show” and charged 100% of the booking fee with no refund.

• Service Guarantee: No refunds are provided for partially used services. In the event of vehicle breakdown, extreme weather, or traffic delays, we will do our best to provide an alternative tour option.
